Channing Tatum head-butts a mirror in ‘Foxcatcher’ trailer

One of the movies that will likely be drawing some Oscar buzz this winter is Foxcatcher, which tells the true story of millionaire John du Pont murdering Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz in 1996. Steve Carell is nearly unrecognizable under prosthetic makeup and a higher-pitched accent as du Pont. Mark Ruffalo plays Dave Schultz, with Channing Tatum as his younger brother, Mark.

That’s an impressive trio of acting talent, and each of them might draw critical praise and awards consideration for their performances. But Tatum head-butting a mirror while pumping himself up for competition is sure to be a lasting image from the movie.


Foxcatcher got strong reviews at the Cannes Film Festival with director Bennett Miller (Moneyball) earning Best Director honors. The movie is scheduled for a Nov. 14 release. Here is its latest trailer:
