As you may have heard, Rio de Janeiro has some problems going into the Olympics. The streets aren’t safe, the water has bacteria, Zika virus remains a threat, etc.
All Rio’s problems kind of make you yearn for the Sochi Olympics in 2014, when the biggest controversy in the build-up was that some journalists’ toilets didn’t work.
Well, longtime NBAer and Australian center Andrew Bogut has some complaints about Rio of a distinctly Sochi-esque nature.

Bogut’s complaints about the Olympic lodging seem to be part of a national phenomenon for Aussies. The entire Australian delegation delayed moving into the Olympic village for several days due to what their Chef de Mission called “a variety of problems in the Village, including gas, electricity and plumbing.”
Once the Aussies finally moved into their lodging, they were promptly forced to evacuate due to a fire, with some of them having their valuables stolen in the process.
So on one hand, Bogut might be on to something when he gripes about his accommodations. On the other hand, it sounds like he has more important things to worry about than assembling his own shower curtain.
Now everyone go tweet with the hashtag #IOCLuxuryLodging.
