Will five-star player Travis Hunter join Deion Sanders at Colorado? The topic has been on everyone’s mind since Coach Prime fled Jackson State for Boulder and the Buffaloes. And if recent rumblings from Prime are any indication, the answer could please CU fans.

The update from Sanders suggested that the five-star Hunter could indeed join the Buffaloes. Football Scoop reported on the update which was provided by Deion in an Instagram Live chat.

According to Football Scoop, Sanders said, “Now he’s providing an update on the status of former consensus five-star prospect Travis Hunter, the lightning-rod signee for Jackson State a year ago following Hunter’s lengthy commitment to Florida State. ‘When is Travis coming?’ Sanders reads from an Instagram video chat. ‘Real soon. What you think Travis is going to do? What is wrong with y’all sometimes?'”

The last five-star recruit to sign and play with Colorado was Darrell Scott in 2008. Additionally, the Buffs have also only signed three five-star recruits since the year 2000: Scott, Marcus Houston (2000), and Ryan Miller (2007). CU has signed just one Top 100-ranked player since 2012: Yuri Wright in 2012.

Suffice it to say, CU has been talent-deficient. Deion, however, is hoping to change that. If he brings Travis Hunter in, that’s one way to do it, certainly. All eyes will remain on Boulder for this looming decision that could shake things up a bit.
