Earlier this week, the college football world was hit with a heartbreaking tragedy when a former Virginia Cavaliers football player shot and killed three of the team’s current players. Virginia running back Mike Hollins was also wounded in the fatal shooting, but he survived. And he reached a huge moment in his recovery on Thursday night.

As seen in a video shared by WAFB, Hollins is now able to walk again after being shot just a few days prior.

It was a heartwarming moment, and the college football world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

His sister, Ebony Hollins-Allen, said that even though she’s seen her brother injured multiple times due to football injuries, she had “never seen him in that type of condition” after the shooting.

“I didn’t know what kind of condition he was going to be in. And even seeing him like that, I didn’t want to see him like that. It broke my heart.” Hollins-Allen said. “It was breathtaking. I’ve seen him injured. He’s a football player. He’s played sports for a very long time. But I have never seen him in that type of condition.”

Virginia has canceled its game against Coastal Carolina in the aftermath of the tragic shooting that killed three of their current players and injured running back Hollins.
