When five-star cornerback Travis Hunter announced he was hitting the transfer portal, you knew several schools would be knocking at his door even though he was almost certainly going to follow his former coach, Deion Sanders, to Colorado. And that’s exactly what he did.

However, Hunter made an accusation against one former school who recruited him before he joined Jackson State that might stun a few people. The cornerback tweeted that Florida State contacted him before he hit the transfer portal, which would have been tampering.

“FSU called before I hit the portal,” Hunter said.

That’s a bold accusation from Hunter and, if it is true, could bring trouble to Mike Novell and FSU. Schools aren’t supposed to tamper with players from other schools before they hit the transfer portal, even if in reality the situation probably happens all the time.

Before Hunter decided to flip and commit to Jackson State, he was originally committed to Florida State which explains why the school thought they might have a chance this time around.

The only team that Hunter reportedly considered outside of Colorado was the Georgia Bulldogs. It is also interesting to note that Sanders went after another FSU recruit, Hykeem Williams, who said that, unlike Hunter, he won’t be joining Coach Prime in Colorado.
