Christmas Day is one of the NBA’s biggest days of the regular season. And when you’re a star player, or are in a major market, you’re pretty much guaranteed to play on Christmas every year. One such star who plays on Christmas Day every year revealed that he doesn’t like to play on that day.

Stephen Curry isn’t a fan of playing on Christmas but not for the reason one would think. Curry revealed that while he understands playing on Christmas comes with the territory of being a consistently top team, he doesn’t like playing on December 25 because he just doesn’t play very well on Christmas.

Curry had a bit of a chuckle as he was saying that but he’s got a point. Looking over Steph’s previous Christmas Day games, he’s gotten fewer than 20 points in all eight games he has played in.

2014: 14 points on 5 of 12 shots, 1 for 5 from three, 7 assists, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, 36 minutes (L)
2015: 19 points on 6 of 15 shots, 1 for 4 from three, 7 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 37 minutes (W)
2016: 15 points on 4 of 11 shots, 2 for 7 from three, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, 37 minutes (L)
2017: Injury
2018: 15 points on 5 of 17 shots, 2 for 8 from three, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 37 minutes (L)
2019: Injury
2020: 19 points on 6 of 17 shots, 2 for 10 from three, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 29 minutes (L)

It’s possible Steph breaks out of this Christmas slump. He’s clearly aware of the situation and wants to rectify that. However, history indicates that if you’re looking to bet on the game, maybe take the Suns.
