Alabama head coach Nick Saban has been at the University of Alabama since 2007 and has turned them into one of the most dominant dynasties the college football world has ever seen.

Many have brought up the possibility of retirement over the years for the legendary Alabama coach, but Saban has denied the possibility yet again publicly. The Tide’s leader recently responded to the idea of retirement while speaking to the Alabama Football Coaches Association.

“Everybody asks me when I wanna retire,” said Saban. “Retire from what?”

“I’m gonna jump into an empty abyss, aight, of what am I going to do? Because the very challenges that I talk about and the things in our profession that concern me – for you and for me both, in your game and our game – that’s what keeps me going. That’s why I get up every day. That’s why I can’t sleep at night sometimes.

“So why would you quit doing that? I haven’t figured that one out yet.”

Over the past few years, the landscape of college football has changed drastically, with changes to the transfer portal as well as NIL deals taking over the sport. It presents a new challenge for coaches and programs alike, and it seems like it may be just what Saban needed to reignite his passion for coaching.

Alabama is one of the dynasties that just refuses to die and only adapts to the ever-changing world of college sports.

Coming off a loss in the national championship game to Georgia this past season, Alabama and Saban will be hungry to remind college football fans exactly who has run the sport for the better part of a decade next season.
