Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Many fans have been debating whether the Chicago Bears should move on from third-year quarterback Justin Fields this offseason, or stick with him as their quarterback of the future. Well, Fields may have just made that decision a whole lot easier for the team with his social media activity on Monday.

The Bears of course have the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, meaning that they have their pick of the litter of what seems to be an extremely talented quarterback class in the upcoming draft headline by USC star Caleb Williams.

Most assume that Williams will be the Bears selection with the pick. And Fields seemingly may be starting to believe that as well, as he reportedly unfollowed the Bears on Instagram, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

Social media obviously isn’t the end-all-be-all. But why would Fields unfollow the team if he believes that he will be returning to the team for the 2024-25 season?

Fans took notice of this and seem convinced that Fields will indeed be moving on to another team next season.

This could all end up being a non-story at the end of the day. But it is also not the only sign that Fields could be on his way out of Chicago.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and not the Bears are the current betting favorites to land Fields for the 2023-24 season. And there are some fairly convincing arguments for the team to move off of Fields, including the fact that they would essentially be resetting their timeline to have to give a quarterback a big contract.

Only time will tell what the Bears ultimately do. But this is at least an interesting development in what will be a fascinating offseason for Bears fans.
