After several months of controversy and during an investigation into allegations of sexual harassment, misogyny, and financial fraud, it looks like Washington Commanders team owner Dan Snyder is finally ready to sell the team, much to the excitement of the Commanders’ fanbase and the rest of the NFL world.

On Wednesday afternoon, a bombshell report surfaced indicating that Dan Snyder has hired Bank of America to begin the process of selling the team. Shortly after the shocking news surfaced, the Commanders confirmed the news with a statement to reporters.

“Dan and Tanya Snyder and the Washington Commanders announced today that they have hired BofA Securities to consider potential transactions,” the statement read, according to Washington Commanders reporter Nicki Jhabvala. “The Snyders remain committed to the team, all of its employees and its countless fans to putting the best product on the field and continuing the work to set the gold standard for workplaces in the NFL.”

It’s an absolutely massive move, especially given the plan from Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay to potentially remove Snyder as a team owner. And the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

It’s worth noting that there’s still a chance Snyder is only selling a minority portion of the team and not the entire NFL franchise, but more will become clear in time.
