On Monday, the Kansas City Chiefs had the honor of visiting the White House where they celebrated their Super Bowl victory over the Philadelphia Eagles with United States President Joe Biden. The President had plenty of praise for the entire Super Bowl-winning roster, but one player stood out to him: star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

During his speech to the team on Monday, Joe Biden had quite some high praise for Patrick Mahomes, saying “the boy can play, man,” and calling him “the comeback king,” given his ability to win despite trailing in games.

“With 200 million people watching — yet another thrilling game — you beat the [Philadelphia] Eagles, becoming Super Bowl champs again. It’s no surprise, you’ve got a young quarterback named Patrick. The boy can play, man,” he said. “Two-time MVP, the comeback king – the only player in history with a winning record when down by 10 points or more.”

Biden praised Mahomes’ ability to play through a brutal injury and had quite the message for Mahomes, predicting that he will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

“We saw him play with that high ankle sprain, another legendary story of one of the greatest quarterbacks of his generation — and, I predict, of any generation.”

With two Super Bowl titles in his young career, Mahomes is already well on his way to making Biden’s prediction a reality.
