All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer skipped OTAs but he will attend Buffalo Bills’ mandatory minicamp this week while he continues to negotiate a contract extension.
Buffalo’s All-Pro S Jordan Poyer will attend the Bills’ mandatory minicamp this week despite still seeking a contract extension as he enters the last year on his deal. The Bills have been in communication with Poyer’s agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln, about his situation.

Poyer and fellow starting safety Micah Hyde have both been absent this offseason so far but will take part in mandatory practices rather than incur penalties for missing them. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bills have been in constant communication with Poyer’s agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln.
“I have not spoken directly to Jordan,” general manager Brandon Beane said last week. “I don’t have any indication that he won’t be here. So, hopefully, we’ll get him back in here and be excited to see him.”
The 31-year-old team captain is coming off a first-team All-Pro season, his first, and led the league’s No. 1 pass defense with five interceptions. That’s tied for the team lead with Hyde, who is already under contract through 2023. Poyer has long been considered a critical anchor on the defense and one that would be sorely missed if he decided to bolt town.
“I think Jordan is in a good place mentally,” Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier said. “He’s still staying in touch with his teammates, and hopefully, we’ll see him soon.”
The news that Poyer would be attending minicamp was a welcome one amongst Bills fans and the NFL world.
A good sign for Poyer and the Bills as they work through their extension talks. https://t.co/3OzHLDuKKp

Brandon Beane & Leslie Frazier both indicated last week that this was likely. Frazier noted the team has gotten to see more out of other safeties, with Jordan Poyer & Micah Hyde not attending voluntary workouts https://t.co/xTbdkDZtL1
