When the Baltimore Ravens signed veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. earlier this month, many saw it as a sign that quarterback Lamar Jackson could be nearing a deal with the team in some capacity. After all, it was quickly revealed that Jackson was actually recruiting Beckham to Baltimore. But so far, that hasn’t been the case.

As Pro Football Talk pointed out on Monday morning, the Ravens and Jackson do not appear to have come any closer to a deal in the two weeks since the team signed Odell Beckham Jr.

“The signing of OBJ created hope that the Ravens could get something done with Lamar Jackson. Two weeks later, there’s still no evidence of any progress toward a deal,” Pro Football Talk wrote in a tweet.

Last month, Jackson revealed that he had requested a trade from the team earlier in the offseason. While it looked like the relationship between the Ravens and Jackson appeared to have been repaired a bit in recent weeks, the fact that the two sides still have not come to a deal isn’t great news.

The NFL world had plenty to say about the situation on Twitter.

We’ll certainly have to see how this whole situation plays out for the Ravens.
