During Monday night’s blowout loss to the Chicago Bears, New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones got benched in favor of Bailey Zappe, leading to a small quarterback controversy in New England as head coach Bill Belichick refused to name either one the starter multiple times. But that wasn’t the only negative attention that Jones got for his performance on Monday night.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Mac Jones can be seen apparently trying to hit defenders with his quarterback slide. In the video, Jones appears to stick his legs out and aim for defenders with his slides instead of simply going to the ground.

“When Mac Jones kicked #Bears @JaquanBrisker on Monday Night, there were questions if Mac purposely raised his leg up in order to make contact with the defender. Based on this video of another slide, it could appear that he is trying to hit defenders,” Kleiman said in a Tweet while sharing the video.

After seeing the video of several replays of Jones’ slides, the NFL world absolutely blasted the New England quarterback for his apparent dirty play.

The antics certainly look intentional, and it’s definitely not a good look for the Patriots quarterback.
