While many have been blaming head coach Mike McCarthy or quarterback Dak Prescott for the Dallas Cowboys’ 48-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Sunday’s NFL Wild-Card game, perhaps there’s one other person they should look to blame.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz tweeted a message of support to the Cowboys before kickoff of their upset loss to Green Bay. As has been the case plenty of other times in the past few months, the team Cruz supported went on to lose the game.

This is the second instance of the Ted Cruz Curse in 2024 alone; Cruz was on hand and fully clad in Texas Longhorns gear to watch the ‘Horns fall 37-31 to the Washington Huskies in the Sugar Bowl.

Houston Astros fans even begged Cruz to stay home during the 2023 ALCS, where Houston lost in seven games to the in-state rival Texas Rangers. Cruz attended all four games at Minute Maid Park in the series and the Astros lost every single one.

Stretching back even further, Cruz posted a picture during the 2019 Men’s Basketball National Championship game, where the Texas Tech Red Raiders had a precarious one-point lead over the Virginia Cavaliers with 35 seconds to play. Texas Tech would go on to lose 85-77 in overtime.

Just like all of the other times, fans had a lot to say about Cruz jinxing yet another team.
