Despite rumors to the contrary, Michael Jordan’s 23XI NASCAR team looks like it’s close to extending the contract of Bubba Wallace.
Wallace was already set to come back next year, but some questioned if he would return to the team after 2023 following their signing of Tyler Reddick for 2024 and beyond. But fans of Wallace need not worry, Jordan is negotiating with the driver, and it looks like he will remain with 23XI beyond next year. Wallace confirmed that Sunday:

“We’ve been working on it for a while; that’s all coming together really nice. Hopefully, we’ll have something to announce here soon,” Wallace said.
Although Wallace has not won a race this year, he has finished in the top 10 in the last 3 weeks at New Hampshire, Pocono and Indianapolis. He also finished second at the Daytona 500 earlier this year. Wallace has been performing better since his pit crew, which was struggling earlier this year, was replaced.
Obviously, Jordan has a lot of confidence in Wallace moving forward. And retaining him is good news also for Joe Gibbs Racing, which is the flagship that the 23XI team is under.
JGR needed some good news considering the fact that they still haven’t signed their No. 1 driver, Kyle Busch, to an extension, and haven’t found a sponsor for him yet.
