If you’re a NASCAR fan and are tuning into CBS tonight, you may see a familiar face. Austin Dillon is (kind of) stepping out of the race car to guest star on the CBS show SEAL Team Wednesday at 9:01 pm et.
Dillon is going to play himself on the show which follows the Bravo Team in the Navy SEAL’s, one of the top special ops groups in the Navy. Bravo Team is at the track as Dillon brings his #3 Chevrolet for the unit to have a bit of downtime.

Gotta say, this is a pretty creative way to bring a NASCAR element into a show about the military. Most military based shows and movies just show the action and it looks like that’s all those characters do but even Jack Bauer had to have spent a couple hours away from work to do have some fun. Here, the guys get to have a bit of fun together before going out to rescue a hostage, which is also in the episode. And, for the actors, getting to spend a day at the track driving a race car has got to be a pretty fun day.
SEAL Team has already had a presence at the track. Main star and executive producer David Boreanaz was the grand marshal for the race at Auto Club Speedway, where scenes were filmed for the show. Dillon has occasionally bitten the acting bug, appearing as himself on Nashville as well as having roles in Rosewood and the movie Stuber.
