November has arrived and the new month means many new selections are coming to Netflix. However, it also means many titles are leaving Netflix, and plenty of notable movies are a part of that list.

Of all the months I’ve done this post over the past year, this is the first time I’ve felt like what’s leaving Netflix may outweigh what’s being added to it. (I’m sure you’re thrilled to keep reading then!)

Almost Famous, The ‘Burbs, E.T., Major League, Can’t Hardly Wait, Rounders, Legally Blonde, Into the Wild, xXx, and Varsity Blues are all on their way out this month (although a few of them will be on Amazon Prime Video and Hulu). But perhaps you don’t care about those 80s-early 2000s movies (or have seen them enough times already).

The additions are headlined by The Jungle Book (yes, the new version that was just in theaters in April), a Gilmore Girls revival, a Netflix original titled The Crown, which is based on the life of Queen Elizabeth II, and The Ivory Game, a critically acclaimed documentary produced by Leonardo DiCaprio about the illegal ivory trade. Comedy specials from Dana Carvey, Colin Quinn, and Michael Che will also be added to Netflix this month.

Here’s a full look at what’s coming to Netflix in November (I’ve put some notable titles in bold to try to help you out, but keep in mind there may be some selections you find more important than I do.):

The Crown: Season 1 (Netflix Original)

This biographical story of Queen Elizabeth II is going to be a big one for Netflix, and the $100 million drama is not just a short-term commitment:

Over six seasons of 10 episodes each, The Crown promises to tell “the inside story of two of the most famous addresses in the world – Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street – and the intrigues, love lives and machinations behind the great events that shaped the second half of the 20th century”. As viewers, we will be given a look inside the life of the British monarch from her wedding in 1947 to the present day. The opening season will be concerned with the young Queen as she takes to the throne and forges a working relationship with Sir Winston Churchill.

Dana Carvey: Straight White Male, 60 (Netflix Original)

One of my favorite comedians of all-time — and definitely the best impressionist — has a new Netflix special.

The Ivory Game (2016; Netflix Original)

Leonardo Dicaprio is an executive producer for this documentary getting tremendous reviews. Here’s its YouTube description:

Elephants are disappearing at the staggering rate of 1 every 15 minutes. Their deaths are fueled by the illegal ivory trade, a dangerous network of violence and corruption that a brave and dedicated few are daring to dismantle. THE IVORY GAME exposes the dark world of ivory trafficking from the planes of Africa to the streets of China. By working with undercover intelligence organizations, activists, frontline rangers and conservationists to infiltrate the corrupt global network of ivory trafficking, the film inspires both outrage and hope.

It’s a Kevin James movie so it’s probably very bad.

Boyhood (2014)
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (Netflix Original)

https://youtu.be/kGGNNSmGDpU

I can’t tell you much about Gilmore Girls, but this is apparently a follow-up/revival of the series that will feature four 90-minute episodes. So if you’re a Gilmore Girls fan, this is probably pretty great news.

Michael Che Matters (Netflix Original)

November 29
Silver Skies (2016)

November 30
Ghost Team (2016)
I Dream Too Much (2016)
The Jungle Book (2016)

Probably the first Netflix movie addition that we’ve ever actually reviewed on the site. Disney’s deal with Netflix has some Disney movies arriving on the streaming service the same year the movie is released, which is pretty awesome. We saw it in September with Zootopia, which is still available to watch.

Our Ian Casselberry was a big fan of The Jungle Book, as he made clear with the title of his article reviewing the film: “The Jungle Book is a delight, with spectacular visuals and great voice work“.
