Giancarlo Stanton hit in head with pitch during batting practice

There was a scary moment at Miami Marlins camp today, when prospect Jose Fernandez hit Marlins superstar Giancarlo Stanton in the head with a pitch during batting practice. The pitch hit Stanton in the area around the base of his head and top of his neck, knocking his helmet off but not sending Stanton to the ground.

Stanton reportedly never got dizzy after the incident, but had some fuzziness in his vision, and had an icepack on his head in the clubhouse. Any serious injury to Stanton would absolutely devastate the Marlins in 2013, and a potential concussion for Stanton is something that needs to be taken very seriously.
