Brian Kemp and Herschel Walker

Herschel Walker, the Republican candidate for Senate in Georgia, faces Democratic incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock in the country’s most brutal election of the 2022 midterm cycle.

Neither candidate earned the required 50 percent of the vote to seal the election, so the duo advance to a head-to-head runoff election next month.

Walker’s campaign got a major boost when popular Georgia Republican governor Brian Kemp, who just won sweeping re-election on Nov. 8th, hit the trail to stump for his fellow party man.

“We need Herschel to win. We need to get that seat back, bring some sanity in Washington, DC,” Kemp said on Fox News. “I think voters are going to have to ask the question that I ask myself, ‘Do you want to vote for somebody that’s voted with Joe Biden 96 percent of the time or do you want to have a voice that’s going to go to Washington, DC?’”

Former presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama have campaigned for their party’s respective candidates. Even Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James entered the race, deigning to endorse Walker’s opponent, Senator Warnock. The campaign has turned particularly nasty in recent weeks.

Georgia voters head to the polls for the special runoff election on Dec. 8th.
