The Los Angeles Lakers have been underwhelming, to say the least, this season, currently the 8th seed in the Western Conference with a 23-24 record.

Things could be turning around for the team, however, as they will be getting back a big piece to their team ahead of tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Chris Haynes has reported that star forward Anthony Davis will return tonight for the Lakers. Davis has been out since the middle of December from an MCL sprain, and the Lakers have clearly missed him.

With all of the dissension that has been in the news for the Lakers as of late, hopefully, Davis will bring a steadying presence to the Lakers. The team has struggled on the defensive side of the floor all season, letting up the fourth-most points per game in the league. Davis should certainly be able to help out on that side of the floor given his defensive skills.

Here are some reactions to the return of Anthony Davis tonight.

With time, the Lakers should be able to build on their chemistry with Davis and get back in a better position for the playoffs.

Davis was averaging 23.3 points per game on the season with nearly 10 rebounds prior to his injury, so adding that back into the Lakers’ offense can only mean good things for the team going forward.
