Via Ben & Jerry’s

Who doesn’t love chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream? Who doesn’t love New Belgium Brewing Co. beer?

So, why not put the two together? Well, that is exactly the thought process behind New Belgium’s newest offering — combining Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough Ice Cream and beer.

Yes, you are reading that correctly. Word on the street is the beer is “amazing…” if only because New Belgium tells us such and hasn’t released much else in the way of details of the actual beer itself.

It isn’t the first time the two companies have paired up, having done so last year to offer a Salted Caramel Brownie Ale Brown Ale to pair with Ben & Jerry’s Salted Caramel Brown-ie-Ale ice cream.

The two companies aren’t just pushing the envelope on the beer front for chuckles. Instead, the pairing will donate up to $50,000 of the sales to the non-profit Protect Our Winters. It’s an organization dedicated to raising awareness of climate change.

This time though… they may have paired two of America’s favorite things and it will either be glorious or horrendously awful. Either way, we’ll all have to wait until the release this fall to find out (you know, unless the fine folks at New Belgium Brewing Co. see fit to send some samples to yours truly… I mean, totally willing to review and all).
