Russell Wilson is off to a rough start in his tenure with the Denver Broncos. The first half of Thursday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts did nothing to change that. He was roasted well before the game started. Those troubles weren’t alleviated once Wilson took the field.

Though the Broncos lead the Colts, 6-3, at halftime of another boring Thursday night game, many fans were quick to notice that Wilson only went 10-for-17 for 79 total yards.

The judgment was quick and decisive on the quarterback’s first-half play:

“Russell Wilson left the Pacific Northwest and all of a sudden he’s back in the Big Ten,” wrote Crimson Quarry.

“Woooo boy Tony Gonzalez just compared Russell Wilson to Aladdin,” Anthony Puccio wrote. “‘Trying to be something he’s not.'”

“There was a lot of Russell Wilson to the Browns chatter this off-season. I’d rather have Jacoby Brissett. Truly. Did you see that Subway commercial??” Hayden Grove wrote.

“Russell Wilson‘s Denver era is a personal attack on Ciara’s ‘Level Up’,” wrote Megan Armstrong.

“I don’t think Russell Wilson is washed, but this is pathetic” wrote Jon Scott.

It remains to be seen if these mean tweets spur Russell to a second-half performance worthy of his traditional output.
