In the end, Republican Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker’s campaign ended up doing significant damage to his reputation and revealed him to be arguably the worst political candidate in the nation during the 2022 midterm elections.

That Fox News even seems to agree with that assessment tells you how badly he did. The conservative network’s digital arm placed Walker at No. 5 on its list of 2022’s biggest losers in politics.

The former Georgia Bulldogs star failed in spectacular fashion against Democratic incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock in the runoff election, eventually conceding the race when he trailed by more than 100,000 votes on election night, a staggering amount given the Republican standing of the state and performance of other Republican candidates in Georgia.

“Though Georgia has become more competitive in recent years, Walker was the only Republican to lose a statewide election in the state this year; every other GOP candidate won by five points or more, avoiding a runoff election,” wrote Fox News Digital’s Sophia Slacik.

Walker’s campaign was a disaster full of liescontroversiesscandals, and just completely weird statements. Things were best summed up by Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black, who said the campaign was “like a plane crash into a train wreck that rolled into a dumpster fire. And an orphanage. Then an animal shelter.”

Still, Walker trailed Stacey Abrams, Beto O’Rourke, Donald Trump, and Sean Patrick Maloney on their list of political losers in 2022.
